Jakub Checinski, aka Jake Chec works and plays among a sonic playground of microphones, mixers, and other studio toys. J.C.â€™s sought after ideas as an on-air producer and skills as sound designer is what drives the promotional machine of CHIN Radio particularly its musical renegade division Chin Radio Dance Division (overnight) â€“ dedicated to electronica and all of its sub genres. Involved from its infancy now acting as PD , Jake oversees many of the operations of this widely listened to broadcast heard on 100.7fm Toronto.

As the programmer, producer and host of CHEC-MUSIC featuring global namesakes such as Max Graham,Sander Klieneberg, Sasha, Digweed and others is syndicated to 15 FM and internet carriers around the globe.

A Polish import with musicianship in the family DNA, he heard his beat playing drums at the age of six, and obtaining an honors degree in Radio Broadcasting at Canadore College. Now based in Toronto Jake settles for no less than sonic perfection on radio airwaves, big room sound systems and the most discerning studio monitors.

Jakes proficiency on the decks with his mix of progressive and melody driven big room house beats have taken him on DJ tours across Canada, Italy, Poland and Croatia.

Signed to such labels as Hi-Bias, Lost Language/Hooj Choons, Funktion Recordings, Release Records, Tested Records, London Music, and having remixed and peer support by, Matt Darey, Adam White, Graham Gold, Manuel De La Mare, Myagi, Angel Anx, Mikel Curcio, and Anthony Attalla thus far â€“ Jake is surely establishing himself as a producer to watch forÃ¢â‚¬Â¦especially listen for.

These expanding successes demonstrate the enthusiasm and dedication Jake applies to these projects both professionally and creatively Ã¢â‚¬â€œ furthering the evolution of electronic music.

When it comes down to his style it could be described as frentic, fast paced and in your face. Unlike your typical DJ who plays a track out to its fullest, BRD likes to cram an enormous amount of songs into each set he does. Along with his DJing skills, BRD has a fidget/electro side project that he likes to through into a lot of his mixes.

When asked about his style, this is what BRD had to say: â€œWith trance its different because itâ€™s all about the build up, every part of a trance song is essential to a trance mix. With electro and house on the other hand, the tracks tend to drag on and go nowhere fast. So I decided to basically play the best parts.â€

Every 3rd Thursday of the month the Bistro 400 in downtown Santa Ana gets transformed into The Sound Lab, which hosts electro, trance, techno and house artist in the area.
